A Garmin chartplotter allows yacht owners to enable a lock screen to prevent unauthorized access to the system. Yacht owners can set the PIN (Personal Identification Number) on the Garmin chartplotter. A recovery question can also be set for recovering and resetting passwords. Yacht owners need to be aware of the fact that if the password is forgotten, Garmin technical support can’t help. Yacht owners need to replace the Garmin chartplotter.
Tap the gear icon > System > Sounds and Display > Screen Lock > Setup
Enter the 6 PIN numbers that are easy to remember
Enter the 6 PIN numbers again to verify
Then enter the recovery question and answer (yacht owners can enable or disable recovery questions.
